In December, a United States judge dismissed the case against detained journalist Carlitos Ricardo Parias with prejudice, ruling that the U.S. government had deprived Parias of access to counsel prior to his trial. There was no other “remedy.”  Parias is a father of two children in southern Los Angeles.
