Unauthorized Disclosure: Dave DeCamp

This week, Dave DeCamp, the news editor for Antiwar.com and host of the daily podcast "Antiwar News", appears on "Unauthorized Disclosure" to discuss the latest in the war in Ukraine and a list that a United States State Department-linked group put together, which smeared Antiwar News and hundreds of foreign policy experts, politicians, journalists, and media organizations.

As Dave summarized, "A State Department-linked Ukrainian NGO published a study on June 6 that listed hundreds of individuals and organizations that oppose aid to Ukraine in an effort to smear them as spreading 'Russian propaganda.'"

"The NGO Texty.org.ua listed Antiwar.com and several of its staff members, including Eric Garris, Scott Horton, Kyle Anzalone, and many Antiwar.com contributors. Organizations that Antiwar.com works closely with were also named, including the Libertarian Institute and the Ron Paul Institute."

Oddly, even though co-host Kevin Gosztola has not written about the war in Ukraine for two years, this group included Kevin in their list and linked to two Dissenter articles that he wrote after Russia invaded Ukraine.

During the conversation, David and Kevin describe the absurd nature of this list and particularly how it blames this list of individuals for stalling U.S. military aid to Ukraine. They ask, why did this group put out a list now?

President Joe Biden's administration recently escalated the war by authorizing Ukraine to launch attacks against targets inside Russia with U.S. weapons. Given recent developments—and the fact that groups like this State Department-linked NGO don't want us to have this conversation about the war in Ukraine, Dave and Kevin spend the rest of the episode discussing what is at stake as the war drags on.
