LA's Long History Of Violence Against Journalists
Host Kevin Gosztola is joined by guest Adam Rose, who is the press rights chair for the Los Angeles Press Club. He discusses court victories in lawsuits against the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
The Los Angeles Press Club was a plaintiff that sued to protect the rights of journalists covering ICE operations and protests against ICE. A United States court sided with them in their complaints against the LAPD and Noem and the DHS. Rose outlines the history of attacks on journalists in L.A. and celebrates the work of independent journalists who are braving harsh conditions.
