Dissenter Weekly: Tracking Trump's Threats From Day One
Today, The Dissenter Newsletter launches its new show, "The Dissenter Weekly."
Paid subscribers of The Dissenter will receive the show every Friday. It will be available exclusively to paid subscribers until Monday. Occasionally, there may be snippets that do not make the final episode. Those clips will be shared with only paid subscribers.
Kevin Gosztola outlines the format in the show's first edition. Each show will feature headlines. Then there will be a main story or topic covered in a 15-minute segment.
The headlines for this week include a United States court decision that the NSA's "backdoor searches" violate constitutional rights to privacy and a Portland independent journalist facing trial for reporting on a pro-Palestine student protest.
In the main segment, Kevin focuses on what Reporters Without Borders described as the "unprecedented scope of threats" posed by President Donald Trump's administration. He discusses what The Dissenter will be tracking closely and comments on establishment media organizations, which have already yielded to Trump.
